Corporate social responsibility is the form of management that is defined by the company's ethical and transparent relationship with all the stakeholders with which it relates and by the establishment of business goals that promote the sustainable development of society, preserving environmental and cultural resources for the future generations, respecting diversity and promoting the reduction of social inequalities.
The concept of CSR is sometimes associated with philanthropic practice, as it is very common to see entrepreneurs and companies publicizing in the media their participation in or support for social projects, through donations. However, the issue of social responsibility encompasses much more than just than simple financial or material donations. CSR deals with the ethical relationship in all its actions, policies and practices, whether with its internal or external public, there is no strict list of actions that a company must take to be socially responsible, that is, there is no consensual definition.
Social responsibility involves a more transparent and ethical business issue and the inclusion of social and environmental concerns in the decisions and results of companies. Social responsibility, ethical and transparent relationship of the organization with all stakeholders, aiming at the sustainable development of society, preserving environmental resources and cultural for future generations, respecting diversity and promoting the reduction of social inequalities. Companies are being held accountable because, having systematically misunderstood the future of the economy and society, they see themselves in the contingency of reassessing the weight of the effects of its activities and of correcting its conduct.
Among the possible attitudes to face this challenge, the wisest seems to be to shake off the lethargy and try to deal with what is evidently wrong. It is about seeking a new identity for companies. strategic, logistical, operational, financial and commercial. The commitment that an organization must have towards society, expressed through acts and attitudes that affect positively, in a broad way, or to some community, in a specific way, acting proactively and coherently in the which relates to their specific role in society and accountability to the company. The term social responsibility implies a way for companies to conduct their own businesses "in such a way that they become partners and co-responsible for social development. The socially responsible company is the one that has the ability to listen to the interests of the different parties involved in the business (stakeholders).
Shareholders, employees, suppliers, consumers, community, government and the environment, in order to be able to incorporate them in the planning of their activities, seeking to meet the demands of everyone. Corporate social responsibility is the permanent commitment of entrepreneurs to adopt an ethical behavior and contribute for economic development, while improving the quality of life of its employees and their families, the local community and society as a whole.
